Windows 10: Will Win10 boot normally after upgrading to new Motherboard and CPU?

I want to be as prepared as possible before I swap my Motherboard and CPU. Will Windows 10 boot like normal after I install the new parts and configure the BIOS? Will I have to make a fresh Windows installation?

I've looked around a bit before coming to ask, and I found a page that claims changing the registry values of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\msahci and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\pciide to 0 will allow Windows to boot after replacing the hardware. I'm a little wary of doing this without having a Windows Media Installation boot stick, so I figured I'd ask the community if this works.

I can always backup data I want saved from my OS drive and create a fresh installation afterward, but it'd be neat if there were a way to bypass that need.

Upgrading Motherboard and CPU

I bought a default Lenovo K450 a few years back that came with Windows 8 preinstalled. Well over the past few months I've upgraded the PSU, GPU, and moved too an SSD without much of a hassle since I was using the same motherboard and CPU. Well, I'm moving
too a whole new upgrade and changing the case, motherboard, CPU, and adding a network card. My question is, once I've changed out all of the parts, will I need to reinstall Windows 8, or can I just install Windows 10 again like normal and follow the steps
with customer support to establish the legitimacy of my previous Windows OS? I have the OEM and Product Key.

Replacing disks is no problem.

In my experience, replacing motherboards almost always results in crashes.

You could run this experiment:

• Create an image of your System partition. Store in on an external USB disk.
• Insert the new CPU.
• Install Windows. I bet that it will work flawlessly.
• Restore the image you created in Step 1.

The only hardware changes that can negatively impact activation status once you upgrade to free version are the changes to the:

• CPU
• TPM
• Motherboard replacement

The following changes are examples of hardware changes that will NOT impact the activation status:

• HDD/SSD
• Video card
• Adding extra memory
