The machine is an Dell XPS 7390 which appears on the list that Dell have tested for Windows 10 May 2020

• Dell drivers are fully up-to-date.
• I have tried downloading the KB and installing but it said that it wasn't applicable Microsoft Update Catalog

• Tried installing using the Windows 10 Update Assistant and ISO media https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209 "This PC can't be upgraded to Windows 10. Your PC settings
  aren't supported yet on this version of Windows 10. Microsoft is working to support your settings soon. No action is needed. Windows Update will offer this version of Windows 10 automatically when these settings are supported."
• Confirmed Core isolation disabled
• Tried disconnecting from the internet and upgrading

What is interesting I have another Dell XPS 7390 with the same settings and drivers and it upgraded without any problems.

 

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
