  1. Will windows 10 still be on a drive after cleaning that I'll sell with a computer?

I currently have two PC's. I have an old PC with a Sata SSD that has Windows 10 Pro installed on it and activated through a digital license, and I want to sell this PC. I CLONED the Sata SSD to a new NVME SSD I have in my current PC system. I am gonna go into my old PC and completely clean the Sata SSD through Windows Recovery settings.

Question 1: My question is, will Windows 10 Pro still be in the old PC after completely cleaning the drive using windows recovery settings, no third-party software to clean to drive?

Question 2: And IF Windows 10 Pro will still be in the old PC and considering that the Windows 10 Pro in the old PC is activated via a digital license, as long as the buyer has a Microsoft account, they will have Windows 10 in the computer I just sold them. Am I correct???

This might seem like dumb questions, but I'm asking because I want to make sure to tell the buyer that the PC has Windows 10 or doesn't have Windows 10. Thank you

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

  4. Will windows 10 still be on a drive after cleaning that I'll sell with a computer?

    Cleaned hard drive

Hello my name is Bradford and I'm an Independent Advisor for the Microsoft Community and I will try to answer your question about the security of your online accounts that were once used with that hard drive.

By "clean" I assume you mean "format" or the actual "clean" command in diskpart- a feature built into Windows.

If that is the case then yes, the information needed to access your online accounts has been removed and it is safe to sell the drive.

If, however, this is not what you did, below please refer to the tutorial on how to run the "clean" command.

    1. Press "Windows Key + R" to open the run dialogue

    2. Type cmd then press
Ctrl+Shift+Enter to run the command as an administrator

    3. Then type diskpart and press enter

    4. Then type list disk and press enter

    5. Then a list of the hard drives connected will be displayed, type the number of the disk you want to clean with the "select disk" before it, for example
    select disk 1

BEFORE you proceed to the next step please be sure that you selected the correct disk as the next step is NOT recoverable.

    6. Then type clean and press enter.

If you have any other questions please let me know and I'll be happy to answer them.
