Will Windows licence stay on a computer after clearing a drive?

    Hello,

I have a problem with my friends laptop. I am unable to get into windows I have tried everything, safe boot, every windows repair utility, recovery drive... the only thing that I am able to do is to completely reinstall windows through an USB stick. My question is will the license stay on the computer, or will it be gone after the reinstall. PS. My grammar or sentence structure might be a bit weird, I am not a native english speaker. I am sorry for that.

    Thank you help in advance.

    :)

  2. Clear Pagefile on Shutdown

I've been looking into clearing the pagefile, and I found the following steps at a somewhat dated webpage:
    1. In the registry editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
    2. Set ClearPageFileAtShutdown to the REG_DWORD value of 1.
    3. Restart Windows.
I'm just wondering whether those steps are still valid, and, if so, does clearing the pagefile work as advertised?
