Windows 10: will your microsoft account get banned if you use a pirated/free version of windows7/10/11?

i know this question has been asked and answered before, but i just want to make sure, thanks in advance

Microsoft puts the Banhammer on Live ACCOUNTS

I'm pretty sure that by banning the pirates live account it cripples them more than a console ban because instead of just getting a new 360 and going back online he now can keep his console but loose all of his gamerscore friends and subscription (meaning having to pay another 50 dollars for a years worth)

So all I am saying here is Microsoft doesn't care about the PC world anymore when it comes to gaming, they care about their console, so even if only a small fraction of pirates have a 360. It still something Microsoft wants them to fear. They are hoping by banning accounts people will stop playing Forza 3 while signed into Live and keep themselves signed off until after the release of the game. They are hoping this will cause pirates to buy the game instead of downloading the game.

Microsoft do not actively search for pirated versions of Windows, but when the update process sees a pirated version, it turns off certain functionality, and so you should purchase a licence, or you are breaking the end user licence agreement.

With regards to YouTube, if someone on YouTube spots you are using pirated software, they can report you to YouTube and you risk a ban from YouTube.

 

If a microsoft account would be banned someday, would that literally forbid them from using Windows?

It looks like you are confused about whether you can continue to use Windows after your Microsoft account is banned. I will do my best to help you. Here are some of my suggestions:

1. Yes, after the Microsoft account is blocked, there is no access to that user in Windows.
   
2. Windows 11 does require a Microsoft account to set up. But you can disconnect the Microsoft account after setting up Windows 11, i.e. convert the account in Windows to a local user.
   
3. Local users are not subject to the MS account login restrictions.
   
4. When you log in to a Microsoft application you can choose to log in only to the application and not to Windows.
