Windows 10: Win 10/11 Home -> Pro Upgrade Microsoft Store purchase gone, cant activate, link in order...

I purchased a windows 10/11 Home to Pro upgrade off the actual microsoft store page after following the upgrade links provided from the windows activation UI in settings., back in March of this year 2023. I recently did a OS refresh reinstalling everything after a format. Windows is now telling me I dont have a valid digital license even though before it was fine, and I did a refresh twice since then and no problems, all using the same account, and same key, only change is i also upgraded some hardware. I selected in troubleshooter the option about changing hardware recently but it says it

Hello guys, My laptop came pre-installed with Win10 Home 64bit and I recently purchased a Win 10/11 Pro licence from the Microsoft Store app. Unfortunately, having some issues activating the digital licence for Win10 Pro. Here is the situation:

• Logged into Microsoft account used for the purchase (also received the email receipt of the purchase)
• Already connected to stable internet

What I tried so far: Entering the Win10 Pro generic key: Received error 0x800700005:

Clicking Close returned another error 0xC004F034:

Clicking Troubleshoot re-activated my Win10 Home so still not on Pro. Thanks for any help. [FIXED] Win 10 Pro suddenly became Win 10 Ent from MS Store app: Jump to solution - Cannot activate Win10 Pro after Microsoft Store app purchase Sources:

purchased win 10 pro in microsoft store and it won't activate plus link is bad

I installed windows 10 pro on a new pc and then to activate it I purchased win 10 pro thru the all setting activation link to the Microsoft store.

I was charged and when I go online to my Microsoft account it shows that I paid for it.

There is a link on my order details for win 10 pro and the link is broke.

Also my pc still says that it is not activated.

You sir, are a star. Thank you so much! As a final attempt, I followed the last article you sent where downgrading Enterprise to Pro simply meant re-entering the Generic Pro Key again. And it worked! +reps for you <3 In summary, here was the rundown of events in case someone else can find this useful:

1. Buy Win Pro 10/11 digital licence from Microsoft Store app (no product key, licence bound to MS account)
2. 'Buy' button becomes 'Install' in MS Store, click Install (this will result to an error code, do not panic)
3. Reboot device (let Windows updates finish during reboot)
4. Windows magically reboots to a de-activated Win 10 Enterprise (do not panic)
5. Change product key into generic Win 10 Pro key: VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T (this effectively downgrades the 'stray' Enterprise to Pro)
