Windows 10: win 10 1903 update - have sufficient memory and hard drive space?

My Vaio laptop will not update to Win 10 1903 (May 2019). Update screen shows "Windows 10 May 2019 Update is on its way. We're offering this update to compatible devices, but your device isn't quite ready for it. " Nowhere does Windows explain why my laptop is not ready for 1903. I have sufficient memory and hard drive space. Thoughts?

Win Update 1903 won't save to external drive

I checked into the different methods that you list for a successful upgrade of Windows 10. I only have about 3 GB of space on my hard drive and this is the lowest (because I have kept downsizing my APPS and the other not so needed) so I could keep updating
my Win 10. The "Media Creation Tool" is needed for bootable copy. I've tried to use an upgrade yesterday that directed me to the "Media Creation Tool" and I would need at least 8 GB on my hard drive. I have a 1TB external hard drive with about 850 GB which
I select for the Win 10 Update if the pop up would allow me to select the "Continue" button that never shows up, therefore never recognizing my external drive.

It would be proper if Microsoft would have this drive (Media Creation Tool) already on our pc and or included with updates so we would not know that we ran out of space and therefore can not install it so it recognizes our external drive. Please forward
my concerns to Microsoft as none of your methods will successfully update my Win to 1903. Perhaps they can expeditiously come up with a solution so people with no space left can update. Thank you.

• What is the make and model of your computer?
• What is the exact error message that you're getting when performing an update?
