Windows 10: Win 10 21H1 - Unable to add text to Search and System boxes.

Hi,I have Win 10 Pro 21H1 29/4/22 OS Build 19043.1706 Win Feature pack 120.2212.4170.0On a Dell T7500 Workstation.When I try to add text to the Explorer Search box, I am unable. There is no reaction at all, the cursor is there though.The search facility itself does work . If I paste or use a previous search still in the dropdown, it does go look but won't allow extra text.Any suggestions please?oz

Firefox Search Box Text

In previous versions of Firefox, I was able to find the option to disable the browser from showing previously entered text into a search or text box. For example, the User Name box on this forum, I type "O" and OrbitzXT pops up. Other text in other search boxes has been popping up as well. I am using Firefox 3.6, I've tried clearing histories and such and it still remembers text in the boxes. Any ideas how to disable this? I don't see any such option in Tools -> Options.

  Go to Cortana.

  Click on show search box.
  

Now check if you are able to find search box.

unable to type in texts in boxes in I.E. 11

As per the issue description you are facing issue with Internet Explorer, you are unable to type text in IE 11 search box.

There might be a chance that there is some system file corruption. So, I would suggest you to run
SFC scan and see if it brings any difference.

System file check is a utility built into the Operating System that will check for system file corruption. The sfc /scannow command (System File Check) scans the integrity of all protected operating system files and replaces incorrect,
corrupted, changed, or damaged versions with the correct versions where possible.

• Press Windows key and
  X at the same time.
• Choose Command Prompt (Admin) from the context menu.
• In the command prompt, type sfc /scannow and hit Enter.
• Exit command prompt.

If issue persists try to create new user profile as an administrator and see if issue persists in new user profile. For creating new user profile you may refer to the steps provided below.

  Press Windows key + R
  
• 
  Type control userpasswords2 and click OK

  Click on add under users tab
  
• 
  Click the option, "Sign-in without a Microsoft account
  
• 
  Click on Local account
  
• 
  Choose a name for the account
  
• 
  Add password if you want to

  Apply and click OK.
