Activation problems 32bit to 64bit

I Upgraded my mothers Windows 7 system to Windows 10 when it became available. Mom was having trouble with an MMORPG she played daily and in the process of troubleshooting we discovered that her motherboard was 64 bit but the installed Windows 10 was a
32 bit. I reinstalled Windows 10 and now it will not activate. Fast forward to today, I received a new case/mb/cpu (full system minus monitor) that came with Windows 10 already on it and activated. It was for another person in the household (my aunt). My
aunt's previous system had been running Vista so when Win 10 came out I had to purchase a new digital copy with a 32bit/64bit activation code. I thought I would just use that code for Mom's system. It is giving me an error and I cannot figure out how to
get this done. I know the error is because the key was previously assigned to a different system.

Suggestions? Or am I just screwed and am going to have to fork out even more money to Microsoft??

 

Win 7 32bit oem Home premium to Win 10 64bit Home

Hi,

I have win 7 32bit oem Home premium that comes with my PC without the installation disk (only key available).

I would like to switch to 64bit especially when windows 10 is available since my system is totally compatible with 64 bit. One way I hoping to do this is to upgrade my 32bit win 7 to 32bit win 10 and then doing a clean install to upgrade to 64bit win 10.

Will I still get to activate the 64bit win 10 for free if I do it this way?

Yes you can BUT it will require formatting to change architecture. Step one, upgrade AND ACTIVATE to win 10 32bit. Step 2 Using the media creation tool create a 64 bit ISO. Format the computer and install 64 bit win 10. You simply need to skip the
step where it asks you for the key by saying do this later. The installation will check with the online activation servers, validate the credential
