Windows 10: Win 10 6hr update, 100%disk 1hr after turning on

Hi there,


Last night I scheduled win 10 to update at 0510h the update finished at 1224h and took 15mins to login to Windows, now I'm in win 10 I can't use my computer as the disk is at 100% disk usage since I turned it on 1329h.


I'd really like to just use my computer and not have win 10 use up all my system resources.


Note: this isn't the first long update, after the first one I ran sfc /scannow, chkdsk, ran hdtune, and did a defrag.


Any help would be appreciated.

• Check to ensure there is disk activity (look at the hard disk LED light to confirm. If there is, keep waiting. If setup goes beyond 2 to 3 hours, try the following steps.
• Power down the computer. Unplug it, then wait 20 mins to 1 hour.
• If you are using a laptop, remove the battery if the option is available.
• Disconnect it from the Internet (unplug Ethernet and/or turn off Wi-Fi).
• Plug it again, ensure it remains disconnected from the Internet then start computer.
• See if it completes setup.
• If setup completes and you see the desktop with the ability to click Start and launch programs, proceed to reconnect to the Internet.

Clean install, disk usage at 100%

I've seen that article. and I am in fact not running that driver. I followed the steps and it does not appear in the list.
