Windows 10: Win 10 activation after motherboard replaced

I updated to Win 10 after 7/8 and things were great - then last week I had to replace my MoBo and now I cannot get the Win 10 to re-activate.

My MS digital account does not show my Win 10 licence it does show my Office 365 subscription and an old Excel 2013 one and I think this is because the upgrade to 10 was free on an OEM device and I've read read that in such a case you have to buy a new licence; If that's the case I'm completely ok with that.


Problem, however, is that when I go to the MS Order Desk it tells me that I'm already running 10 and asks me if I want to install on a Mac or another machine. I need to install the WIN 10 on my existing machine - how can I do that if it's already running albeit in the unactivated form, which doesn't allow me personalization etc.


I assume too that I'll have to unsubscribe from my Office 365 and then re-load it and all my other programs when / if the new Win 10 is installed?


I seem to be going in circles and would appreciate some help getting back on the straight and narrow!

Activating Win 10 after replacing Motherboard

I recently had to replace a motherboard on a Lenovo ThinkCentre due to a blown power supply. After recovering, Windows was not activated and I can't use the troubleshooter to remediate. This system was shipped with Win 7 Pro and upgraded to Win 10 during
the free promotion offer.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to get Win 10 reactivated in this scenario?

Also any thoughts on why Win 10 doesn't recognize the DVD or USB ports in File Explorer?

 

Activating Win 10 after motherboard replacement

I had a Windows 10 computer with a digital license that was linked to my Microsoft account. It was upgraded from a Windows 7 license. The motherboard of that PC had a defect so I had to throw it away. After that I removed that computer from the device list
of my Microsoft account and used a Laptop for a while.

I don't have my old Win 7 key and I didn't even get a chance to extract the Win 10 key from the old motherboard. And now since I bought a new motherboard is it possible for me to activate a new installation of Windows 10 with my old license?

 

Cannot activate Win 10 Home on an existing PC after replacing the motherboard.

Recently, the motherboard on my home PC (desktop) stopped working. It was originally using Win 8.1 Home, and got upgraded to Win 10 Home in 2016.

After replacing the motherboard and re-loading Win 10 Home, it asked me for a registration key to Activate Win 10, but there is no way to get this info from the previous motherboard, because that is dead and I can't find the original Win 8.1 DVD which was
used to load it. How do I re-activate Win 10 on my home PC?
