  2. WD passport external HD not recognized on windows 10

    Hi Team,

I have upgraded my Dell inspiron laptop OS from windows 7 to windows 10. I used to connect my WD external HD to my laptop and it was easily accessible in my computer as if it is laptops internal drive.

But, now when I'm trying to connect, it getting connected but it is not showing in my computer. My OS is 64 bit.

I tried solution of uninstalling and then installing HD but it didn't work.

Please suggest how to resolve this.

WD Black HD spins faster and system shuts down

    Hi,

    My desktop computer specification is:

    • Processor: AMD FX 8320
    • Motherboard: Asus M5A97
    • RAM: Kingston HyperX 16 GB (8*2)
    • HD: 1TB WD Black
    • Graphics Card: 2GB Saphire 5450
    • SMPS: Cooler Master 650W
    • OS: Windows 10

I know HD spins constantly but sometimes it seems that HD is spinning faster or I means HD makes noise (especially while using virtual machines). And desktop computer shuts down automatically.

Please let me know, what I need to check?

    Regards

    InTech

WD My passport - Not recognized in Win 10

True there is a lot we do not know yet with this PC or Drive, but Ultra's are both 3.0 & 2.0 as posted in links here from WD, so i suppose i am just speculating on what was shown so far here. I would not suggest him/her opening this WD and i see no screws so either snapped together or glued . As i have this drive and UEFI. I think has to do with where is it being plugged in which USB ports as i see a listed PCI USB Controller card. Asked about updated system drivers, chipset,etc..

    Here is my Device Manager
