Windows 10: win 10 cant wake up a idled screen saver when couple hours passed

So when i go to sleep i like leaving my pc on, downloading stuff, searching for virus, etc.

I used to have win 7 and never had a problem.

as soon as i updated to win 10 this problem appeared.


so i set the display to turn of after 1 min idling, but i just press the sleep button which is set to turn of display. (i cant just turn of monitor cause its broken n wont turn off unless i unplug it) So when i wake up or come back from being out, my display is off pc is on but i cant wake it up, theres no key i can press to wake up or anything, if i press the power button which should turn on sleep or hibernate (in this case is not either of those but still) it just turns off pc. Theres no event log that says what happens only recognizes me turning off n on again after seeing i cant wake up.


Its really annoying, its like it crashes when idled or something, but theres no log so i dont know.


id really prefered not having to format or reinstall win 10 but idk what to do.


i just wanna leave the screen off with blank screen saver and come back to my pc move the mouse and continue using my pc.

We need to gather more information for us to better understand your Screen Saver concern. Kindly answer the following:

• How did you disable wake up password?
• Are you seeing the log-in screen when waking up the computer from sleep?
• How did you set up the Screen Saver? Kindly provide us the step-by-step process on how you did it.

Here is what I want: Same access / functionality as in Win 8.1. That is:

• Right-click empty desktop space.
• Select "Personalize"
• Get a window with the same screen saver options (turn on / off, select a "screen saver"...) that in Windows 10, Microsoft is forcing me to access through Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Personalization ->Change Screen Saver.

The Windows 8.1 two-step process was a much more user-friendly "experience" than is the Windows 10 four-step process.
