Windows 10: Win 10 - Chrome sluggish at boot time while Edge, Firefox, Opera, all start normally?

I boot the win 10 pc, some programs start okay, I click on Google Chrome and it takes ages Firefox and Opera for example start straight away, even Edge? Anti-virus comes back with nothing found, defrag not needed because it's SSD etc.

Firefox "blocked by administrator; Edge, Chrome, Opera, IE not blocked

I run W10 (upgrade from 8.0) on a Lenovo G700 laptop. This morning, I reinstalled Firefox, but I get a "blocked by administrator" message. Chrome, Opera, Edge and IE all work normally. I can bring Firefox up with "Run as Administrator," but that won't
work when I click on a link in an email. How do I fix this? (I have a vague memory that I dealt with it before, but I can't remember any of the steps.)

 

Explorer, Chrome or Firefox ?

My browser history goes Mosaic > Netscape > Ie > Firefox > Opera > Chrome

IE was brief because of security issues. Firefox was customized how I wanted but often had extension problems or crashes. Opera was good at first then sluggish and lacked compatibility. Chrome has it's quirks, but has given me the best overall experience.

 

Windows 10 - Chrome & Firefox unable to start

Hi Keith,

1. Does this error occur when you boot into the system or when you try to open Chrome?

2. Does the issue persist for Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge as well?

Try the following steps and see if it helps.

Method 1: If the error occurs at start up, then try Clean boot and see if it fixes your issue.

To disable all non-Microsoft services consult the article called
Clean Boot.

Method 2: Run the following command

Follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + X and click onCommand Prompt (Admin).
Kindly provide the administrative password, if prompt appears.

2. Type regsvr32 jscript.dll and press Enter.
Click Ok.

3. Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll and press Enter.
Click Ok.

I would also suggest you contact Google chrome support and ask for their suggestions.
