Windows 10: Win 10 desktop all USB's wont work after startup, no ps2 connections.

The desktop is a Dell Inspiron 3252. I was told that the mouse just stopped working last week. When I started to look at it I found the keyboard didn't work either. I have tried all of the USB ports and they are the same. When it is in boot mode they both work. I don't have any of the computer stuff that came with it. is there any way to get the mouse & KB to work without losing all of the info on the computer? I have turned the front & back USB ports off & on in boot and didn't make a change. I am not real good with computers but could stumble through it if I had a clear direction & if I had help from someone & I would welcome help if there is anyone that can help?

Just some additional info. there is never anything that comes up us a problem on screen. it boot up and looks OK. When the keyboard or mouse is plugged in it beeps but don't get a prompt on computer that it sees anything.

Can I use Belkin KVM f1dk102p with Win 10? TIA

I have a win 7 and win 10 computers on my desk. I have an older ps2 keyboard that I really want to use for both computers. The Lenovo (all in one screen) Win 10 has no ps2 ports. I attached the Belkin KVM f1dk102p to the Win 7 computer then to the older
keyboard, then I purchased an adapter to go from ps2 to usb and plugged it into the usb port of the Win 10 computer. The trigger to swap keyboards is press Scroll Lock x2 and press the up or down button. It swaps to Win 7 computer just fine but the Win 10
puter just makes little sounds telling me it does not recognize usb device. It is not recognizing the ps2 keyboard plugged into the usb/ps2 adapter. Any suggestions? Thank you so much.

Windows 10 mouse and keyboard not working

I had 3 desktop computers come in my shop today with no working USB ports after latest update. If you have a desktop and it has the old purple and green ps2 ports you can use them to regain access and revert the update. I did that with 1 of 3 today. If
you dont have ps2 ports, I dont have an answer yet for that yet. I haven't had a chance to look at the other computers yet, i'll get on them Monday. ps2 keyboard and mouse must be plugged in when computer is off. Most wont recognize if plugged in while on.

I was able to get that done I hit enter before closing command prompt? it did not work so I started to try to get back in to windows recovery after restarting & it went into Support assist & ran a hardware scan. It said no problems found so I am going to re-start & try it all again. I really appreciate the help though & will let you know if it works.

No it did not work. I tried the 64 command also but did not work on that either. I am stumped on what to do now.

Thanks Everyone 4 the help! I had to try it about 7 times & it finally removed the "fix". It restarted and the mouse & keyboard were back. The wife is going to be very happy!
