Windows 10: Win 10 Ethernet keeps disconnecting randomly wired, USB WiFi dongle and tethered iPhone

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller - AMD board.I have an Ethernet connection to my Desktop and it keeps connecting. When I run the network troubleshooter, it says that the default gateway is not available or Ethernet is not connected, then it gets solved; but after a few minutes the same problem happens again and I have to keep on troubleshooting the error to solve this issue again and again. I’ve tried disabling Ethernet and connecting to the router via WiFi using a USB dongle and tethering my iPhone to rule out the router/modem. Yes, iOS is up to date and wifi tethering works fine, it's the USB tethering that's the problem.

I uninstalled the iPhone in device manager as you suggested, restarted the laptop, then reconnected the iPhone via USB and I now have a new Network adapter appearing in device manager called Apple Mobile Device Ethernet and no unknown device under Other
devices.

USB tethering with the iPhone is now working - hooray!

There is still no sign of a Mobile Device Support folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple though so I guess I just got lucky. If it fails again, I'll try cross posting
in https://discussions.apple.com/community/iphone/using_iphone as you suggest.

Win 10 iPhone 6 USB Tethering no longer works

Hi -

I've successfully upgraded the Asus T100TA to Windows 10.

I actually used my iPhone 6 tethered via USB to complete the downloads for the install process.

Post Windows 10 install, iPhone USB tethering no longer works.

WiFi tethering works fine. But WiFi tethering is much slower that USB tethering.

I've removed and reinstalled iTunes to no avail.

I tried resetting network settings on the phone - no joy.

I'd guess that this might be an iTunes issue, but at a minimum I wanted to put this out there.

Connecting my 4G dongle as a wifi- it doesnt list it as a wifi device but when I use a cable, it connects it under ethernet

Im using a 4G dongle and it gets listed under the list of wifi devices in my phone and my old laptop. But, with my other laptop with Windows 10, it doesn't list this network at all. However, when I use a cable to connect to the dongle in my USB port, it
lists the network as Ethernet. I need to use it without connecting using a cable as it keeps disconnecting even if I move an inch.
