Windows 10: Win 10 Explorer - not finding pdf files. Please help?

Win 10 Explorer - recently only in some folders shows pdf files but in a search doesn't find any pdf files even with simple names like 'test', while finding all others. Acrobat selected as 'default pdf handler.Updates are current. A roll back to previous updates made no difference. Folders all have pdf ticked. Folder Options are set at default.Dell Inspiron 7506.

File Explorer - Some PDF's show thumbnail image, some don’t

In Windows 10 File Explorer, I see thumbnails for a few of my pdf files but still see the generic Adobe pdf icon for most of them.

• In Windows 10 folder options, the checkbox for “Always show icons, never thumbnails” is unchecked.
• On the Adobe Reader preferences general tab, “Enable PDF thumbnails previews in Windows Explorer” is checked.
• Adobe Acrobat is set as my default PDF viewer.
• I have used Disk Cleanup to delete all my thumbnails to clear and rebuild the cache, yet the problem persists.

Any suggestions on how I can see all the pdf icons as thumbnails?
Windows 10 Pro, Version 1903, Build 18362.657
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (20.006.20034)

I appreciate your efforts and time.

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Go to Search and type the Adobe files and open those files.
• Then go to the location where those files have been saved.

Win Explorer, how to search for 10.20 to find the file abc_10.20.pdf ?

Hi,
how is it done in Win Explorer, to find search terms including a dot ?

search for 10.20 to find the file abc_10.20.pdf ?

Right now i receive 0 results, although the file exists.
