Windows 10: Win 10 In place Upgrade Compatibility

Hi everyone, how do we differentiate whether the Windows 10 devices is compatible with Win11 23 H2 or Win11 24H2 via Powershell script ? Please share your knowledge on this. Thanks

In-place upgrade - XP to 10 without losing the apps

Wolfgang, you need at least two steps (Vista & Seven) between XP and 10, the Eight can be bypassed:

• XP can only be in-place upgraded to Vista, not Seven or later
• Vista can be in-place upgraded to Seven but not Eight or later
• Seven can be in-place upgraded to 10
• Ergo: XP to Vista is a must, as well as Vista to Seven but then you can bypass the Eight and jump to 10

 

Win 10 compatibility

I have both Win 7 and 8.1 on different computers and looking to upgrade to Win 10. A few months ago, I found a list of applications/software that was, or was not, compatible with Win 10. It is not assuring to know that Win 10 is compatible with
most applications - I wish to know if it is compatible with all of my applications before upgrading. I do not propose to rush into upgrading if, like when upgrading to Win 8.1, I was forced to buy new applications.

Does anyone know of how to find the list I am referring to please. I did not save it at the time because I had to leave on holidays and now cannot find it.

 

SCCM: In Place upgrade Win 7to win 10 1903 License issue

I was working on one task sequence for In Place Upgrade. Win 10 1709 to Win 10 1903 is working fine.

But Win 7 to Win 10 1903 is getting failed during Upgrade Operating System step.

I checked some of the links and added the KMS Client Keys (NPPR9-FWDCX-D2C8J-H872K-2YT43) in upgrade operating system step.

Also added one step to run vbs script.

But Task Sequence is getting failed at this step.

Command line Cscript.exe c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs /ipk NPPR9-FWDCX-D2C8J-H872K-2YT43 returned 3221549136

In my environment, we are using KMS and we don't have a Volume license.

Any advise how to resolve this issue.
