Windows 10: win 10 insider preview

Windows Insider Preview 10.0.17713.1002 failed to install - error code 0x8042400d. Can somebody help?

WIN 10 Insider preview NOT activated

I installed win 10 insider preview some time ago, unfortunately the last update (10547) screwed it up, so I tried the recovery / reset function.

Not a good idea, since I did this it says 'Activate Windows' but activating just comes up with an error.

The microsoft hotline suggested I should buy a new key? Or install win 8 upgrade to 8.1 and than to 10!

My provider sure will love this as I am on a metered connection!

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thank you for your interest in Windows 10 Technical preview.

Insider Hub will no longer be pre-installed on phone or desktop preview builds. Insiders can continue keeping up with the latest Insider news by reinstalling the desktop app using the following steps:

• Open Settings and select
  System, and then Apps & features.
• Select Manage optional features and then
  Add a feature.
• Select Insider Hub from the list (which is in alphabetical order) and click
  Install.

Note: These steps will only work to reinstall Insider Hub on desktop. Insiders will have to reinstall the desktop app on every preview build leading up to
the release of Windows 10. Beginning with the most recent build for phone (Build 10149),
the Insider Hub app is no longer available on phone.

Windows 10 Insider Preview Install Failed

• Are you referring to Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14267?
• Which Intel drivers are you referring to?
• Are you referring to Intel drivers deployed through Windows Updates?
• Did you get any error message when they fail?

From your description, I suspect that the problem might be due to unsuccessful installation of preview build caused this issue. Suggest you to check installing the build again to see if the same thing happens again. If you don't see the

update, then please check it after sometime. Refer this link
