    Win 10 - Internal notebook camera sometimes not recognized


    Hey, so my internal notebook camera is very often not recognized. When I reboot Windows it always works flawlessly. So at some point if I only knew what triggers this it stops being recognized. This is extremely annoying when I have a lot of programs open and need to close them all for the reboot. I've searched for similar issues and fixes for those but have not found any helpful information on this. I suspect it is a Windows problem, but don't really have the chance to boot a different system. Any help is very much appreciated.Cheers!

    Lenovo Y510P (Unsupported for Win 10) Camera Driver Needed


    Hello and welcome ksuthayya have had a look for a driver for your machine but there are only drivers listed up to 8.1 not 10.
    Camera Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - IdeaPad Y410p, Y510p - Lenovo Support (US)

    Having said that my old Toshiba was in the same position and yet when I installed 10 Windows updates found drivers for stuff not listed on the Toshiba site.

    Now a suggestion would be to get a clip on camera and install it via USB or like wise because it would have it owns driver. If my memory serves me right they are not that expensive - but still annoying eh?.

    I hope this is in the right catergory? I think I may have caused this problem by changing settings in my Nokia android phone? I've noticed that my phones OS is like Win 10 and it's connected to my Desktop through the Wi-Fi? Being 66 y/o, I'm not up to

    is not recognized? After trying a few forums and trying fixes without success I reinstalled Win 10, uploaded new drivers, etc...etc... and I'm still back where I started a few months ago. Any ideas, suggestions, Welcome.

    • Are you facing the issue after upgrading to Windows 10 or after installing any updates in Windows 10?
    • Is the Camera in-built or an external camera?

    I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the steps provided below:

    • Type troubleshooting in the Search box and press Enter.
    • Click on View All in the left navigation pane.
    • Click on Hardware and Devices and follow the on-screen prompts for troubleshooting.
