Win 10 .Iso update frequency + other question.

    Hello,

I want to ask, under what time interval does MS actually refreshes its .ISO ? (Official site).
I understand, the official .iso would have been uploaded after the anniversary update and now I wonder when would be the next .iso update.

Also, I am buying a new laptop next week that comes with Win home, and I know I cannot stop updates in home version and I don't want to update to latest anniversary update. Any workaround to stop it ? (I wana stop the latest update as I know many users are reporting freezes etc..)

    :)

Windows 10 been updating multiple time - will lastest win 10 ISO have everything?

    Thank You about the Insider.

I want to say with the official MS release version because I develop applications for others.

So may original question was that there have been a few updates to Win 10, and I have download Win 10 ISO back on August 6, 2015. I believe there have been updates and is there a new link to the most updated version of the Win 10 ISO for download??

    Thank You,

    Window 10 download version Question

    Thank You.

One of my question was "I believe the first version I download required I have the correct version of Win 7 to download, and I do. Recently, I read that Microsoft has a new method of checking if I am legal to download my using my Win 7 or win 8.1 product
    ID."

I read the procedure by Andre Da Costa and his article said I must have Win 7 or Win 8.1 installed before I can update or run ISO disk? I thought that there was a new version of the Win 10 that will allow you to enter the Product Key of my Win 7 pro or
Win 8.1 to install from the ISO??? Is this Correct or Not???

You also ask what version of Win I have. I have two systems: 1) Win 7 Pro and the 2) Win 8.1 (I think this is Home).

The 2nd question of getting the latest Update?? My downloading the update or ISO (like today), this should be the latest version??? Is this correct???

How do I check the version of the update that I have download without installing???

    Thank You !!!!

    G

Win 10 .Iso update frequency + other question.

If you come on to forums looking for issues, you will find them.

Remember only a tiny fraction of people get issues, and those who do not rarely post to say things are fine.

RE. isos, they are updated occasionally eg after a few months. So it is unlikely an iso update is imminent.

Okay, so I understand .Iso wont get updated anytime soon, but is there any official notification from MS when they change the .iso?

Also, pls let me know how can I stop Win Home from updating automatically....

Updates are there for a reason, making more secure and improving the efficiency of the O/S.
Occasionally M$ slips up, usually a fix is issued soon after.....Better safe than sorry.

Win 10 .Iso update frequency + other question.

It really does not matter that much with the new cumulative update approach. It is far more efiicient than the old style windows 7 individual updates.

Re. home - you can only stop all updates which is not a good idea. MS felt they had to tackle issue of users not updating and leaving many systems totally insecure.

Update issues nearly always come back to poor vendor driver support rather than W10 itself.

Leave less than 8 GB free on your Windows drive (the so-called "Boot" drive) Windows 10 will not be able to upgrade with so little space.

Seriously though, there was a rumour that Microsoft have planned no "feature upgrades" before 2017, and then 2 feature upgrades during 2017 - see:

Yes, I have heard that in metered connection MS doesn't DL any updates in background. (Never tried it yet)

    kk

Also in Win 10 Pro - if say I go abroad and don't want any updates getting downloaded for obvious reasons - There too metered connection will help ? Any other tweaks or something in Pro. ?
