    Hello


    I have an old computer with American Megatrends 0803 BIOS. I was running win7 ultimate on an HDD on IDE and bought an SSD which is recognized by the bios to install the latest win 10.


    I downloaded win 10 from windows site but didn't have a 8gb DVD so I clicked on finished without burning the iso. I then used Windows7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool.exe to make a NTFS bootable USB with the ISO.


    I have used this for the win 7 installation before. But now when I boot on the USB it enters a black screen with a flashing underscrore bar then reboots and does nothing.


    I unplugged the HDD and only plugged in the SSD before doing this.


    Is there a problem with compatibility with legacy bios?


    Any help would be great.


    p.s. I don't want to upgrade from the win7 on the HDD.

    Bootable USB with ISO - What am I missing?

    you can use pendrive with win too. in step 1 you have to select "custom iso"(or "other" cant remember how exactly it was dubed) and point win .iso file. i've used it for my install usb stick and it works fine.
