Windows 10: Win 10 laptop reset Issue

So my laptop is almost 7 years old and i'm planning to trade it in for a new one. When I tried doing the standard Reset my PC via the Recovery utility in Win 10, it always ends up with the error "There was a problem is resetting your pc. No changes were made." Now, I know there are several conversations surrounding this issue, but I have been at it for several days now trying all sorts of things to no avail. Here are few that I tried :


1) SFC scan via Admin command prompt - Ends up saying I have corrupted files that It couldn't fix


2) ren system.001 and software.001 commands - Ends up saying for Software.001 command that it's currently in use by another process


3) reagentc /disable and enable - Successfully executes but does nothing to the issue


4) System Restore - No restoration point identified and doesnt allow me to proceed further than that


5) DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth - Does nothing



I haven't tried the Media Install process so might do that once I get an empty DVD. Can someone please help suggest anything else I can do so reset my laptop.

Multiple Issues After Resetting Laptop


Hi,

I recently reset my laptop and since then I've been experiencing a whole host of issues:

• Windows search bar doesn't work
• Shop app won't open
• Won't allow me to change location settings
• Clock/calendar on my toolbar is unresponsive when I click on it

Any ideas what the problem might be, please? Advice / suggestions are very much appreciated!

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

Laptop battery issue

I'm pretty sure the E1505 has "speed step" on it. Double checkthe speed step settings to make sure they are set for long battery life, maybe it's somehow reset itself?
