  1. Win 10 licence transfer to new hardware

Hi guys. I just bought new laptop, and I would like to figure out if it's possible to transfer my win10 licence from old one it will be discarded. The licence on the old laptop originated from FPP Win7 Ultimate, then updated to Win10 Pro. So, my question is if it's possible to transfer this win10 licence to new hardware and then update to win11, or do I have to buy a new licence? Thanks!

    :)

  2. Transfer Win 10 Pro Licence to a new Win 10 Home PC

I bought a Laptop with Win 7 in July 2012.

In January, 2013, I bought a Win 8 Pro licence through the promotion that was running at the time.

I have since update the original Win 7 PC, to Win 8 Pro, to Win 10 Pro and it now is running Win 10 update 1903.

I bought a new laptop with Win 10 Home this week. I will be retiring the original Laptop purchased in 2012.

Can I transfer my Win 10 Pro licence on the retired laptop to the new Laptop ?

I am getting mixed answers from the Sales people.

Transfer Windows 10 Licence from Old/Dead Computer to New Computer

Depends on the licence you have. How did you get your Windows 10 licence, was it via the free upgrade and was the previous system installed by the manufacturer = OEM.

OEM licences cannot be transferred, generally but recent posts suggest MS is allowing some transfers.

Retail boxed licence can be transferred to a new device.

    New motherboard = new device.

Win 10 licence transfer to new hardware

Is it true that upgrades to 10 from Win 7 do not support license transfer to new hardware?

Although there is a method for transferring the licence to new hardware it will depend on your upgrade licence. OEM or Retail.

    OEM cannot be transferred.

Retail may be, but a call to Chat Support may be required.

As previously mentioned that will not affect the boot problem you have. I would suggest doing a clean install using boot media and check the activation status when you use your key.
