Win-10 - Multiple Screen - Display Setting - How to change the Default option

    Hello Everyone,

I work in an ABW (Activity Based Workstation) office, using different desks every day. Each of these desks are fitted with a dual monitor that we hook the laptop through a Targus docking station. Everyday, we have to switch from the default option of Duplicate to Extend the display.

Is it possible to make this change permanent or default ? (ie) when I connect to a dual monitor or single monitor, I want to setting to be Extend rather than Duplicate

This has pretty much become a morning ritual

    Cheers

    :)

How to save a multiple displays settings?

    Hi VAinc,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums

You may want to answer these questions to get more clarity on this issue:

    1. May I know the make and model of the PC?
    2. Did you try updating your display driver?
    3. Are you getting any error message?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    Steps 1:

    1. Go to settings
    2. Click on “System"
    3. Then click on Display
    4. Move your mouse to the monitor that needs to be set as primary and check the box
      "Make this my main display"
    5. Under "Multiple displays" select "Duplicate these displays"
    6. Then select “Keep this display settings
Once you make these changes, you may restart the computer and check.

    Hope it helps,

    Mithin EJ

  4. Win-10 - Multiple Screen - Display Setting - How to change the Default option

Multiple Windows display on Win 10 screen.

    @starflyr

Use the WINDOWS + ARROW (left | right | up | down) keyboard combination to snap windows to sides on screen.

Example 1: I have Command Prompt open. I now want to snap it to the left, covering 50% of the screen, I press WIN + LEFT and I get this:

Example 2: Now I decide that I also need File Explorer opened right of Command Prompt, so I press WIN + RIGHT while FE is selected and I now have this:

Example 3: Now I need one more console window and I want to put it below the already opened Console by doing the following:
    1. I select the opened Console and press WIN + UP
    2. I open a new Console Window and press WIN + LEFT followed by WIN + DOWN

    That gives me this:
