Windows 10: Win 10 no sound on welcome screen

OK, I got Windows 10 but when I get to the welcome screen there is no sound like when I had Windows 7. There is no sound only on the welcome screen. Does anyone know why?

I have a pc that only shows the welcome picture, pressing any key or mouse doesn't show login box, it is only showing the network icon and none of the power button icons or start button etc. Removing the network cable shows disconnected so the pc isn't crashed,
finally managed to get it into safemode using the switch off pc 3 times workaround as no options to restart etc.

Once there the startup repair failed, the system restore points have been deleted, command prompt missing only option left is an image restore to new.

Any ideas before this final step?

Steps so far

Switched keyboard for know working

Reset bios to defaults

Tried system restore

Tried Startup Repair

 

Windows 10 like Windows 8/8.1 should startup and shutdown with no sound chime unlike Windows 7 which which has a sound chime at both startup and shutdown.

 

Thanks for replying so quick! Much appreciated. All I can say is I am going to miss the chime, (sound at startup and shutdown). Oh well,guess it could be worse...lol

 

Disagree. It is lame that MS removed these trigger/events. Setting them to silence would have been a style decision. Removing them was hamfisted.
