Windows 10: Win 10 only boots 1/3 of the time !

Win10 Pro - Version 2004 (updated only a few days ago but the problem I describe started before the update)

for a couple of weeks, about one third of the time win 10 does not boot on my PC which opens on the page to access the BIOS settings (does this page have a name ?)




I go F1, F10, enter, and win boots ok
this is tiresome and I would like to understand whats causing this
I checked the boot order which raises questions (for me), youll note that the win boot manager is listed twice, once at the beginning, once at the end




I know I can mess up windows and correct it later (have done repeatedly), but in this area I thread carefully, thats why I would appreciate your advice

an other strange occurrence, whether win boots directly or not, is that the shortcut for MY COMPUTER which I normally have in the top left corner of my screen is moved to the end of my icons on the desktop... ???

I also have repeated connections difficulties for the PC (ethernet), while my devices on hifi connect fine
dunno whether all results from the same fault...

Win 10 boots...

I can't answer to the speed of Win-8 booting. I tried the Win-8 preview and went back to Win-7 after a month. They say that Win-8.1 is a lot better than Win-8 was.
My Win-10 TP is working well ATM.

Please be informed that, if there are many startup items on the desktop, it will take time to boot up to the desktop screen. It is the ideal time to boot up.

Also, suggest you to run the system maintenance troubleshooter.

Its a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with system.

Refer these steps:

1. Press Windows key +X, select
Control panel.

2 . Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.

3. Click on troubleshooting and click on the
view all option on the left panel.

4. Run the System Maintenance troubleshooter.

How to go about building a tri-boot system?

i dual boot all the time, and going in to tri boot is easy.

step 1) partition the drive in to 3 partitions ( leaving 1 empty for the linux installer. )
step 2) install windows on the first 2 partitions.
step 3) install linux, and let it auto partition the remaining space. ( i recommend at least 30gb of space for linux, because it will make things a lot easier. )

step 4) enjoy.
