Win 10 Pro 64-bit Upgrade Install via Bootable USB/Win 10 ISO

I've got an OEM Win 7 Pro 64-bit system with all updates. It's only a few days old. I don't see the Win 10 upgrade icon in the notification area. I've got Win 10 install ISO on a bootable USB device, SanDisk Micro 8 GB Cruzer.

What do I need to do to cause this upgrade install to happen?

Just plug in the bootable USB device and see what happens? Or, reboot with the bootable USB plugged in and the BIOS set to boot USB first?

I'm ready to give this a shot in spite of reading about all the users that go back to Win 7.

    Regards

    :)

  2. ?Do clean install of win 10 rtm and activate with win 8 or win 7 key.

I have about 8 computers at home and in my office that have either windows 7 or windows 8.

When RTM of windows is available I would like 4 isos 1) win 10 core 32 bit 2) Win 10 core 64 bit 3) win 10 pro 64 bit 4) win 10 prof 32 bit.

I would like to download 4 isos and burn 4 bootable DVD and install win 10 on all my computer and use my win 7 or win 8 key to activate? Will that be possible?

I really do not want to upgrade all 8 computers FIRST with win 10 , wipe the dis and then do a clean install from the iso. This would be wasteful of my time and bandwith

    Windows 10 ISO

    Hi all,

Last year I took advantage of the free upgrade from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro (32-bit version, x64-based processor).

I’m now downloading the 32-bit Win 10 iso and will burn the image to a dvd via Win 10's image burner. (Supposedly, that will also make it a bootable dvd). I’ll also get a flash drive and make a bootable recovery drive.

Everything’s SO confusing! In the process of downloading the Windows 10 iso, it asked what language I wanted and the architecture I wanted (32-bit vs 64) but offered no choices as to Windows Home, Windows Pro (like mine), etc. – just “Windows 10”.

If I ever need to use the dvd, will it install Windows Pro? (Or is it all now just "Windows 10"?) I also don’t know if I’ll be asked for a Product Key should I choose to do a clean install. Will the iso on the disk include that my current Windows is
valid (activated) and, therefore, re-install Windows that is (or can be) activated without having a Product Key?

I also inadvertently left a flash drive in the usb port (just file data) when I downloaded and burned the iso image. Does that affect the iso image? I've heard that it does if I ever create a complete system image on an eternal hard drive.

    Thanks for any clarification.

You have to mount the file. There is no need to boot from the USB stick or to pass by the BIOS. See the link below. Do you still have the file in the download folder? It's the best way to upgrade, via the download file (ISO directly). There is no need also to build an ISO image to upgrade. The second link seems to be the best for you.
