win 10 pro build 10240 hasn't received the November update build 1511

My win 10 pro build 10240 hasn't received the November update build 1511 while my other win 10 home versions have. I know I'm not the only one having this problem but here's my two cents. On my xw4600, I upgraded from win 8.1 pro to win 10 pro as soon as 10 was available some months ago. I still receive other windows updates. I downloaded the most recent iso from the media creation tool but I don't have an option to mount it from the right click menu. Both sfc and dism have no issues. I would burn it do a disk but I've read other users say its just reinstalled build 10240 instead.

I was using another random win 10 pro computer at work today and noticed it hasn't received the November update yet either. Anyone else with win 10 pro that did get the update?

Maybe this issue has more to it, like when I upgraded to 10 pro I had an issue with onedrive. I don't really use it so I only disabled it from startup in the task manager, but it as a service disappeared (except for registry entries and program files) and I haven't found a way to reinstall it ... yet. I know I could do a clean install of windows but that's not my style. I move from pc to pc over the years using disk images. This onedrive issue is the only problem I've come across that I haven't figured out, without a clean install. I mean, I wiped onedrive from my system completely, registry keys and all, but attempts to reinstall fall short (error corrupted file). During the attempted installation it places all its registry items and files, including the file it says is corrupt. Copy those files that are working on another computer, no dice. sfc and dism no issues. I'm getting off track. I was hoping the November update would fix it, but now that's an issue too.

Maybe Microsoft delayed the November update on win 10 pro?

    Thanks in advance!

    :)

  2. Encounter driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (smb.driver.sys) when I wake up my laptop from sleep

    Dear Mr. Robear Dyer,

I have upgraded from WIN 8.1 Pro to Win 10 build 10240. When I update to version 1511 on 23 November 2015 the install was not that successful. After boot up and login the blue sreen and error message appears in endless loop. The message is

    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (kbdclass.sys)

I had to revert back to previus build 10240.

I tried updating again on 6 January 2016. I faced the same issue. I had to revert back to build 10240.

    Your help is highly appreciated.

    Best regards

How do I know if I am getting the latest update for Win 10

Thanks for such a prompt reply. But unfortunately, it seems that the response does not in any way respond to my question. So perhaps, I´m still not being clear with my question. Yesterday, 5 Feb. 2016, I updated my computer to version 1511 Build 10586. This
was updated from build 10240. Now, logic would dictate that 10586 comes after 10240, so therefore, it would follow that 10586 is the newer version.

The question comes from the fact that when I did a simple google search, there were people posting comments about version 1511 Build 10586 in November 2015. Now, I know, without a doubt that I received build 10240 AFTER November 2015. So, my question once
    again is:

If version 1511 Build 10586 is "the latest and most up to date," why is Win 10 computer, which has been set to auto update since purchase, receiving this "latest and greatest" update 4 months after most other people did? Was there a version 1511 Build 10586
pushed out in November of 2015 that I did not receive? Are there TWO version 1511 Build 10586 updates?

This is the entire point of my question. If it was new in Nov. 2015, then it´s not new today, which causes me to question how I know--without a doubt--that the "new" version pushed to my computer, is, in fact, the "newEST" version?

Thanks again. I am not trying to be sarcastic or difficult. I simply want a straight answer to my question.

win 10 pro build 10240 hasn't received the November update build 1511

RE : I downloaded the most recent iso from the media creation tool but I don't have an option to mount it from the right click menu.

Did you burn the iso to a bootable media, then insert the media to the computer ?
If that was what you did, then you would NOT see the Mount option.
Instead, you would see the Setup option. Use that to start the installation.

    1. Download the latest media creation tool from here:
    Windows 10

Blue box, "Download tool now". Right click on the mediacreationtool.exe that gets downloaded and click on properties, then the details tab.

If file version says 10.0.10586.0 then that mediacreationtool.exe will download build 10586. It is very odd that you cannot mount the ISO file, but if you burn a USB/DVD from the ISO and run setup.exe from it from inside Windows 10 it will upgrade you to build 10586.

You can also download build 10586 ISO from Tech Bench:

Also, if you insert the bootable dvd into the optical drive > right click at it > click "Install or run from your media".
That will also start the installation.

    Thanks for the replies!

Just checked, the MCT I have is version 10.0.10586.0

I agree. I checked a couple other win 10 computers this evening and all of them can mount iso. Something is definitely missing from my file system despite what sfc and dism say.

I've been trying to avoid burning the iso to disc due to what I mentioned in my OP but sounds like that is the only other option at the moment.

I'll burn the iso and run the setup, should get around to that sometime tomorrow and I'll give an update later.

    Thanks again!

    Maybe try this?:

    1) right-click the iso, and select properties in the menu.

    2) Under Opens with, select Change to change the file association

    3) select Windows Explorer
