  1. Win 10 Pro IP; CPU Speed shows 0.00GHz

I have an old system here, but it works like a champ. I bought a used Phenom II x6 1090T for it, and a used RX Vega 64 which will eventually find a home in a new Ryzen system I am slowly acquiring the components for.

Anyway, as you can see from the screenshot below, with the latest update to version 20150, the CPU speed in TaskMan reports 0. Sometimes it will show a value of 0.02 or so, I've seen it report as high as 20GHz intermittently, but mostly it settles back to 0.00GHz. This is a 3.2GHz processor, and it has Turbo boost up to 3.6GHz or so. The CPU speed was reporting fine before this particular update.

If you need any further information, let me know. Thanks.

Windows 10 Pro OEM, upgrading the CPU

    Hello everyone.

I have Win 10 pro OEM and am buying a new CPU (need speed), will there be any issues with the license?

ALL other hardware will be unaltered.

Thanks for any suggestions or experience.

Win 10 BSOD after reducing number of CPUs

    • Win 10 x64 running in VMware Fusion VM on MacBook Pro w/ 6 physical cores & HT.
    • When VM is configured with 5+ CPUs, Windows runs fine.
    • When VM is configured with 4 or fewer, BSOD INVALID SYSTEM CONFIG INFO
      • WINLOAD.EFI missing or corrupted
      • Attempt to repair using ISO image fails
    OS X 10.15.4, VMware Fusion Pro 11.5.3

    Win 10 Enterprise

    Version 1703

    Build 15063.2108

Any suggestions appreciated, as I need to move this VM to another HW config with fewer physical CPUs.

    Thanks!

CPU not running in full speed in Windows 10

I am experiencing the same problem reported by mkroshana.

I have a Samsung laptop with the Intel i7-3517U CPU.
It shows a base speed of 2.40 GHz and an actual speed of .79 GHz.
I have tried so many suggested 'fixes' that I couldn't relate them all.
Here are several things I have discovered - mostly through browsing the internet:

    1) I can use the Device Manager to change the Processor drivers (1 for each core) from the 'Intel Processor' to the 'Processor' (picked from driver list) and I get a steady CPU speed of 2.40 GHz.
This is a fixed processor speed and my system is dramatically faster.

    2) If I use the 'Intel Processor' for the 4 cores, I get a boosted speed ranging well over the 2.40 GHz for approximately 1 minute following boot-up, after which it fades to a steady .79 GHz - never to vary from that regardless
of the load on the system (I have run stress tests).

    3) If I use the 'Intel Processor' for the 4 cores and boot up in 'safe mode' I get what I suspect is the proper performance of the CPU - over 2.40 GHz when stressed and well below that when not.
This performance behavior does not go away with time.

    4) I have installed temperature reporting software on my system - CAM from NZXT - and it reports CPU temperature at a fairly steady 50 - 60 Deg C, depending on the stress I put on the system.
This is well below the maximum rating for the CPU of 110 Deg C.

I did not have this problem before I migrated from Win 8.1 to Win 10, but I do not know when, after the upgrade, the problem began to occur.
