    Win 10 Pro upgrade on Thinkpad T420


    Question for the hive mind. I have an older Lenovo Thinkpad, Model T420 with an I5 Intel Core. Wondering if anyone has had experience with this model when updating from W10 Pro Ver 1909 to Ver 2004 or even to Ver 20H2. This unit started life as a W7-64 bit unit but has weathered the update to W10 Pro Ok so far.

    I have a Lenovo H30 desktop (actually a laptop in a desktop box) that took the 20H2 quite nicely when it was offered and I have Dell that is running 1909 that says 20h2 is ready if I want it. No mention of 2004 on that one.

    This Thinkpad T420 is currently running Ver 1909 and has been holding with a notice that 2004 is "on its way" but nothing says it is ready if I want it, so I have been holding off on 2004 for now.

    The Thinkpad has also been bumped up to 16 GB RAM. It's factory limit says 8 Gb limit but I found data that said I could populate the second slot (under the keyboard) with more so I went to 16 GB and it is working quite fine. There is one quirk with the camera since Lenovo did not make a W10 compatible driver for this unit, so I use SplitCam as an intermediary or just hook up something external. Other than that this baby has been serving me well.

    So open to suggestions, warnings, etc. Thanks in advance.

    Lenovo Thinkpad T420 clean install after upgrade.

    Just purchased a refurbished T420 with win 10 pro updated from win 7 pro, am wanting to do a clean install.
    Anyone running a T420 on win 10 would appreciate any advice.
    my only concern is obtaining correct drivers or will windows install them.

    I want to Upgrade from my Windows 7 Professional to Windows 10 Professional on my current Lenovo ThinkPad T420s laptop computer. I have been informed from a reliable source that Windows 10 is not compatible with Lenovo ThinkPad T420s laptop computer
    because of drivers may not be available. Could this be possible? Drivers?
    I am somewhat confused. Please let me know if Windows 10 Professional is compatible with my current Lenovo ThinkPad T420s laptop computer.
