    I've had this problem like so many people. What I don't have is the pc randomly shutting down. I see this when I am typing and nothing appears. First I check the caps lock on and off. If frozen the caps lock lite will not change. If it freezes and the caps lock changes, got me. However I have found that when it does freeze the C drive is at 100%. when that clears everything is AOK. Still stumped and none of the recommended fixes fix anything. As with other users, this started at some point probably 2 years ago.

    I had already tried turning off fast startup, to no avail.
    Will look at the list you provided, thanks. Hard to do when computer freezes on the Windows loading screen though. *Biggrin
    I had tried that as well... no result.

    • Which is the last Windows update build you've applied to the computer?
    • Are there any third party applications that are currently installed?
    Furthermore, we suggest that you do a BIOS update to your computer. Here are the steps:

    • Check the motherboard manufacturer's website to find the specific model of your motherboard.
    • Go to the computer manufacturer's website.
    • Look for the computer model that you're using.
    • You should find any available BIOS update.
