    Win 10 Settings freezes when clicking on system section.


    Hello, I have a small issue. When I go to the Settings App and the click on System, the entire Settings App Freezes. I can close it out and I can access System with win key + Page Break. All other items with in settings work. I have tried resetting the Settings app and made sure I am up to date on updates. I have also done a disk scan with no issues reported. I think some little thing is missing but I just don't know what it could be. I also made sure the CDP service is running. I am running an x570 Gigibyte board with Rizen 7 3800x , rtx 2070 video card and 32 gb of memory . Bios F30 Tha

    Settings freeze when I click on Display

    I'm trying to setup my Surface as a second monitor. Every time I click on the Systems (display, notifications, power) group in Settings it completely freezes. I have to power off to get out of it. This only happens with that one group. It also happens if
    I right click on the desktop and choose Display Settings. The dialogue opens, then freezes.

    I've rolled back the last, latest update to Win and Flash, but that didn't fix it. System diagnostics didn't show anything. I'm at a loss for next steps.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Settings freeze when I click on Display

    Hi Eric,

    Same problem here. This happens to me after installing the new 1709 update. The OS build is 16299.192 and I believe this is the most up to date version. There's no third party antivirus software installed.

    system file checker and DISM process has been performed but both says there's no problem found.

    Screen freezes after hitting SETTINGS -> SYSTEM, or, right click on desktop and DISPLAYS SETTINGS.

    Do you have further suggestion plz?
