Windows 10: Win 10 system restore asking for password

i have tried every password.


ive changed what i thought was admin password, ive created another account and made it admin status, tried restore computer, picked the new admin with the password and still not working.


ive tried the 4 digit number also


this is so frustrating.


how and/or where do i get this information of this password or can i SAFELY bypass the password. i need to restore to an older time.


i dont remember putting in a specific password for the admin, but i did try all i knew


please help, so frustrating

When I attempt to use System Restore in Win 10, it prompts me for my password, but will not accept my current windows 10 password. Instead, it will only accept the password I used when I first setup Win 10. This is also true of other recovery options.
Also, it appears that win 10 is not creating restore points. I am using the latest updates including anniversary edition on a Surface Book.
