  1. Win 10 Update Restart Fails to Connect to Internet

    Every time I select the "Restart now" option following a major update of Windows 10 the system fails to connect to the internet until I perform a secondary manual restart. There are no other actions required - no turning off/on modems, no diagnostics just manually perform a second reboot via "Start > Power > Restart" and I am back re-connected. This has been happening for years. Why?

    :)

  2. Windows 10 fails to update

    When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

    Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

    I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

    2. Win+X->Control Panel->Netwok and Sharing Center
      Follow the screen shot. This should disable internet access from this PC but allows access to local device(s)
      NOTE: Use the IP & Subnet Mask from step 1. Leave Default gateway & DNS Server blank

    Win 10 update on a slow,metered internet connection ?: I have not seen this question on here so far. It sounds like the upgrade will be sent by MS at their will. How would a 2-3 gig download work on a slow,metered connection. I wonder if there will be some other way? I have to do large downloads between 2 and 7 AM. 6781
