Windows 10: Win 10 Updates and Older Games

I am still playing regularly Silent Hunter 4 from its release 12 years ago, still the best WW2 subsim. I al;so have many puzzle games both bought and freebies. In the past week or so they have begun to misbehave. SH4 was always good in any version of windows but now is crashing and on occasion, not even opening. Same with the gametop and big fish puzzled games.

I have two options. Stop Win 10 updating or revert Nvidia drivers ??? I would rather not do either but my games are more important. Any one else having 'incidents' ?
