  1. Win 10 updates

In the past I tried to install build 1703. My currently installed build was working without any problems. The upgrade consistantly stopped at 99%. My compute became useless. I reverted to the good build, bit had only one go at it. If i shut down, the install of 1703 was forced again. Weeks of working withMS brought no solution,

my question is: now that newer builds exist, can i install the latest build or the prior on if problems exist with new one without losing programs. Links to document files on a separate partition?

what is the best method to install a new build over an older one that preserves programs

Do builds depend on all prior builds and updates thereto to be installed, or is a build essentially a new version in itself? While preserving user data, settings, programs, etc?

    :)
