Windows 10: Win 10 Version 20H2 OS Build 19042.685 64-bit: Toshiba laptop unable to disable internal...

Apparently, I am not alone with the problem that started after the latest update version of Windows is installed. The following is a description of the problem, and if anyone could possibly assist, doing so would be terrific.


SUMMARY:

The computer is a Toshiba Satellite running Microsoft Windows 10 Version 20H2 OS Build 19042.685. There are two onboard oval shape stereo speakers. In addition to the internal speakers is the ALTEC LANSING stereo system with SubWoofer. Sound\Playback has two available speaker options, but there is no option to only disable the laptop speakers without losing all sound output.


PROBLEM:

From within Control Panel/Sound, there are no options to disable the laptop's internal speakers. When navigating to Control Panel/Sound there are two Speaker options available. [See Below] Setting either option as the default, toggling between the two options, has no effect. Regardless of which is the default speaker option, either option as the default disables all Sound.


The question is how to disable only the onboard speakers without disabling both the internal and external speakers? The below are the two speaker options contained within Control Panel/Sound.


When disabling either option, all external sound is disabled:

Speakers

Realtek High Definition Audio

Default Device - one or the other as default


Speakers BlasterX

Acoustic Engine

Default Device - one or the other as default


RESOLUTION:

Unless someone has a resolution to the fault, there is no resolution. If you, or anyone else, has the solution, please reply to this fault inquiry.

32 bit vs. 64 bit updates

Win. 10 Home 'Laptop' Dell

No error, ,just says updates failed on all the 32 bit ones when looking at Windows update history.Don't see any 64

updates in list.

 

Where is Win 10 19042 version

Yes, that is correct. The version reported is 19041, even though 20H2 is 19042. That is because 2004 and 20H2 have the same system files and take the same updates.

If you had 2004, the update to 20H2 would be performed by installing a small enablement package. The ISO includes, in addition to the system files, this enablement package. It will be installed atr the same time, making the installed version 19042.

1909 was the first time this enablement package method was used. If you have an ISO for 1909, check its version, you'll see it says 18362, the build number for 1903.

 

Windows 10 32 bit to 64 bit

I had a Windows 10 Pro 32 bit OS which was activated. Now, I have installed a clean version of 64 bit Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview Evaluation copy Build 10041. But I am unable to activate it. It asks for a product key which I dont have. Please suggest.
