    Win 10 will not boot

    Hi all
i hope someone can help me ?
i have a iMac that I installed win 10 on (but not through bootcamp) all was working fine but then it would not boot not sure why I think it did not like one or more of the driver updates ,Anyway I thought the best thing to do would be to fresh install all went fine but it will not boot from Windows drive but if I select disk in DVD drive but don't tap any key to boot from DVD it boots ok.
thanks for any help in advance

    :)

  2. Win-10 will not boot,Win10 partition will not boot. Automatic repair will not work.Automatic repair will not work, neither will advanced options from repair page loading at start up.

    <Original title: Win-10 will not boot>

Dual boot PC with win7, win10. After November 2015 upgrade, Win10 partition will not boot. Automatic repair will not work, neither will advanced options from repair page loading at start up.

I was working on my PC using Win10 and received the notification that updates where available to install, along with a countdown of an automatic restart. So I rebooted the computer.

1-Restarting the computer resulted in a BSOD loading screen with the following message:

    Attempting "Automatic Repair".

2-The Windows 10 blue screen loads with the following message: "“Your PC did not start correctly. Press “Restart to restart your PC, which can sometimes fix the problem. You can also press “Advanced options
to try other options to repair your PC”".

3-Restarting the PC results in steps 1-2 repeating

Win7 partition works AoK. I can access Win10 partition and all of its files from within external OS. Thus it is not a re-format problem. Sounds like a NTLDR problem to me, should I replace it?

Attempted to revert to previous install point, but Win10 says there isn't one.

As per your recent letter, I tried what you kindly advised me to do:

    1. Are you getting any error message or code, when you select Windows 10 operating system?

A-starting the computer resulted in a BSOD loading screen with the following message:

    Attempting "Automatic Repair".

B-The Windows 10 blue screen loads with the following message: "“Your PC did not start correctly. Press “Restart to restart your PC, which can sometimes fix the problem. You can also press “Advanced options
to try other options to repair your PC”".

    2. Are you getting “NTLDR is missing Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart” message?

    NO

    3. What is the make and model of the computer?

    Dell 620s

Using advanced options I tried the following:

    bootrec /fixMBR

    bootrec /fixBoot

    bootrec /rebuildBCD

    The above did not work.

Windos Ten Forum advised I try the following

Startup Repair Infinite Loop Recovery - Windows 7 Help Forums

    and the results are thus:

Thank you very much for your time and attention. I eagerly await your further input into this Windows 10 problem.

  4. Win 10 will not boot

Use Boot Camp Assistant to remove the existing Windows partition. Then, useBoot Camp Assistant to install a 64-bit version of Windows 10 on your Mac. After you're finished installing Windows, copy your important files back to your Windowsdrive.

Thanks for the reply but the reason I never used bootcamp was it said win 10 not compatible with my iMac anyway it was running win 10 fine without bootcamp but not anymore.
update I have just installed win 10 on second drive and it is working fine but for how long ?
my main drive is ssd weather that has anything to do with it I don't know.
