Windows 10: WIN 10 X64 BSOD, seems completely random

Hi Guys
So unfortunately I am in a bit of a pickle which has forced me to come here, I have used these forums for fault finding before but never had to sign-up or post. I am having random BSOD's (Page fault in non_paged area) and I can't figure out what is causing them.

• I only built this PC a couple of weeks ago
• I have tried upgrading all drivers manually from the individual part manufacturers websites (the problem went away for a couple of days following this)
• I tried to run memtest86 overnight/while I was at work the next day and it successfully completed 8 passes without error
• I have tried changing it from automatically managing paging size to system managed

I would not come here if not for desperation, I am completely stumped at the moment and any help would be GREATLY appreciated

This has been posted on the Microsoft support forums as well so I will be sure to report back here if it gets solved there.

I gave it plenty of time, it appears the uninstalling of all Asus software has fixed the issue, I have had the PC running for up to a week non-stop with no BSOD's.

Please download Speccy and upload a copy of the report it produces to OneDrive and post a link here. To obtain a report select File,
Save as Text file. It helps to obtain the report at a time when the system is under pressure and temperatures may be higher than normal:

From my point of view your DM Log Collector's tool does generate a lot of unwanted files. I really only need the files I ask for.

 

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

• Uninstall Daemon Tools
• Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
  • Double click the executable to open it
  • Click on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window

Please uninstall Gigabyte & ASUS software for the time of troubleshooting at least, both are known for causing bluescreens.

Please post a link to your other thread(s) so I can see what already has been tried.

From the last reply in the MS Forum thread I already had both those updates installed at the time of taking the DM Log Collector dump and I am currently on the second pass-through of Malwarebytes scans, first was a Threat Scan and now I am running a custom scan with rootkit scan enabled, so far no detections on the first scan and only 1 on the second which is an AVG toolbar file from a HDD out of my old build.


On top of the suggested T/S from the other thread I have disabled AICharger+ in startup and in services (had it disabled in AI Suite III anyway) due to the following messages in the Windows Event Viewer (System) logs

(This one was less than 3 seconds before the below"Critical" error which I am presuming was a BSOD event)

So at the moment I am running as is for a day or two and see if the issue returns following this change, I have just removed Daemon Tools anyway as it was not really required but was purely ASUS Supplied software.

 

Sorry there has not been an update lately, I got another BSOD so resorted to uninstalling AICharger+ all together as it was still throwing an error in Event Viewer, since then my PC has restarted but it also applied updates so I'm not sure if it was BSOD related as the PC was unattended, I have just now disabled automatic restart on system failure to further ascertain if it is indeed still getting a BSOD.

 

You could check %systemroot%\minidump to see if recently bluescreens have occured.

 

Another BSOD hit, I have just tried uninstalling all ASUS software (excluding drivers), I will see how this goes then try uninstalling Gigabyte software just for the purpose of isolating the two.

Nah, it is known for analysts that the ASUS and Gigabyte software are causing bluescreens *Wink

It might be a bit difficult to narrow down what piece of software is the root cause, this is for every user different and it might be that there is more than 1 which is why I suggested to remove them all.
