Windows 10: Win 11 24h2 on Dell Vostro causes laptop to freeze when screen saver kicks in, can't wake...

I am currently running Win 11 Pro 23h2 on a Dell Vostro IntelR Core TM i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz 1.99 GHz. My laptop was automatically updated to 24h2 about 4 weeks ago and then I started to experience problems. Startup takes a long time and once the screen saver kicks in, I cannot get the laptop going again, it freezes. Only solution is to reboot. I have recovered to 23h2, and now laptop is fine. I need to stop the automatic update to 24h2 until such time as a solution is found with the 24h2. Please advise on how to stop automatic updates, I have reached my limit of pauses! Alternativel

Wake Screen Saver with wireless mouse

I cannot wake my laptop with Windows 10 from the screen saver with my wireless mouse or keyboard.

The mouse / keyboard will wake the computer from a simple sleep setting. But once the screen saver kicks in I must go through a series of pushing the power button to wake the computer.

Screen Saver Settings / Lock Screen Freeze

when i have tapped and held on background screen.. attempting to find and use a screen saver I see nothing. I have found personalize and the list there which has Colors etc and Lock Screen. Lock Screen was the suggested link to find the Screen Saver but
if i click / tap it it freezes . This is a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2 in 1 Laptop with 4 gig ram and a half Tera of drive. Brand New as of yesterday. It seems like a bug. I cant access Screen Saver easily at all. Not sure why Microsoft would change such a common
feature and make it so difficult to find or how to fix this irritating bug. Can you help me ?
