Windows 10: WIN 11 Client Backup Unsuccessful - Potential Access/Permissions Issues...

Window Server WHS2011 Backups for my WIN11 PC continue to fail. The backup initiates for about one minute 1% then fails.Below is what I see in the Event Viewer which appears to be related and coincides with the initiated manual backup. How can I resolve this?Application: SharedServiceHost.exeFramework Version: v4.0.30319Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.Exception Info: System.AccessViolationException at Microsoft.WindowsServerSolutions.DataProtection.PCBackup.VS

Windows 11 WSUS: Win 11 Updates detected as not needed by Win 11 client in WSUS

I am testing to update Windows 11 from WSUS server. Currently we have 3 units of test client, however, there is 2 issues related to the testing.

1. Windows 11 detected as Win 10 in WSUS.
   
2. Windows 11 updates detected as not needed/not applicable by the clients.
   

I already ticked all the Windows 11 updates options but still the issues still persist. All of the test PC was freshly installed with Win 11 and haven't updated yet. Appreciate the helps from the community. Thank you.

I thought the fact that "Administrators" were listed in the permissions meant that all Admins had access, but apparently not. Now I added my specific login account, it works fine.

Thanks so much for your help, these UAC things in Windows are quite confusing, I am not (entirely) stupid!!

 

Unable to view transferred files due to permissions issue

How was the files backed up, using File history or Backup and Restore?

This issue might have occurred due to lack of permissions set to the drive/ folder.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to set provide permission of the folders to users and check if it helps.

Steps to give permissions to the drive:

• 
  Right-click on the folder which you’re unable to access and select
  Properties.
  
• 
  Click on Security tab and under
  Group or user names click on Edit.
  
• 
  Click on Add and type
  Everyone.
  
• 
  Click on Check names and then click
  OK.
  
• 
  Select Everyone and under
  Allow select Full control and click on
  Apply and Click Ok.
