  1. Win 11 computers take too long time to shut down.

I am an IT technical support engineer. Our company's computers are uniformly joined to the domain and AAD.Some of my colleagues work outside all the time and their computers are almost rarely connected to the company intranet.A few months ago, their computers could not shut down normally. It takes 7 to 9 minutes for their computers to shut down, originally it took less than a minute. After my tests, I found that:1. There is no problem with the computer hardware.2.After the computer newly installed Win11 OS, it shuts down normally when connected to the company's intranet.3. The computer shuts dow

  2. Trying to connect to a printer that is physically on a Win 10 computer from a Win 11 computer to no avail.

    Hello Geldman,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble connecting to your printer. Since you’ve already tried the solutions suggested on the internet, here are a few more things you can try:

    1. Make sure that the printer is shared on the Win 10 computer. To do this, go to the printer properties on the Win 10 computer and check the box next to “Share this printer” in the Sharing tab.
    2. Ensure that the printer is visible to other devices on the network. To do this, go to the printer properties on the Win 10 computer and check the box next to “List in the directory” in the Sharing tab.
    3. Try disabling any firewalls or antivirus software temporarily on both the Win 10 and Win 11 computers to see if that resolves the issue.
    4. Check if the printer is compatible with Windows 11. You can check the manufacturer’s website for the latest drivers and software for your printer.
    5. Try connecting the printer to a different USB port on the Win 10 computer.
    6. If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer to its default settings and then setting it up again.
I hope one of these solutions works for you,

shutting down laptop /computer for a long time

Hi Sam, that is an Internet Myth - there is no special way to shut down a laptop or PC or particular method to use if your PC/laptop is not going to be used for a long time . . .

You simply go to Start Menu - Power - Shut Down

The method I think you are referring to is pressing and holding the power button on your laptop for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a herd shut down - you can do that but it will not serve any purpose.

That should only ever be used, when your computer freezes and cannot be shut down any other way

  4. Win 11 computers take too long time to shut down.

Network between Win 10 and Win 11 computers

I had 2 Win 10 computers that talked to each other fine. Through Windows Explorer I was able to see and manipulate files one the other.

Now that one of the computers is Win 11, I can't see the other either direction. The target folders are all shared with full control permission.

When Win 11 looks for Win 10 I get a "can't access location" error. When Win 10 looks for Win 11, I get a log I'm requirement looking for ID an PW. (FWIW, my Win 11 computer makes me enter a PIN when I log in. I'd love to bypass that but can't figure how.)

Also FWIW, I've shut off firewall to see if Win 11 can reach Win 10 but still "can't access".

    Suggestions?

    Thanks.
