Windows 10: Win 11 corrupted. Now how to get Bitlocker recovery key for the device where encryption...

My windows 11 laptop showing startup error as "Interactive sign-in process initialization has failed" and i'm unable to boot the OS. i though i would simply take data backup and format the same as i dont see any other option. But when i try to take data backup i found the data drives are encrypted with bitlocker out of my knowledge and i dont have any password or recovery key for the same.I checked google and youtube and got to know Win 11 have the feature to encrypt drives and store recovery key in work/school account or personal account or in AD if connected. UNABLE TO FIND MY BITLOCKER ENCRYPTION KEY

I have been reading about the coming of Bitlocker with Win 11 24H2. I purchased a PC in 2020 with Win 10 Home, and recently upgraded it to Win 11 23H2.

Following directions in an MS article, I attempted to find my Bitlocker Encryption Key. In my account info, it shows the key for my new Laptop (win 11 Home) but nothing listed for my older desktop. Is there a reason for this? I am not really interested in having Bitlocker on either device, but would like to have access to that code if I need it. Thanks, JWarner

HI Kelly, thank you for your attempt to help.

In case with this system Windows 11 Home with Device Encryption enabled and no recovery disk were available,

Data was recovered using Bitlocker key on an another system.

Booting with MS Windows 11 installation media was not able to provide Bitlocker key to disable Device Encryption or view Hard drive at all.

UEFI with bitlocker device encryption was hiding it unit volumes were erased.

But in order to repair / reinstall os only choice was to disable TPM, erase volumes on hard drive and reinstall OS from scratch.

Any attempts to repair using recovery partition were not successful, suspected that Original recovery partition was Windows10 or corrupted during system update.

OEM Reload disk works on second attempt.
