Win 11 - TPM 2.0

The AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with Radeon Vega Graphics processor on my MSI B450 motherboard, is not on the Win 11 list due to the TPM 2.0 requirement. There is a 14 pin connector on the mother board to add a TPM module. Will adding a TPM 2.0 module to the motherboard meet the Win 11 requirement? Thank you.

Looks like the answer is no.

The presumably oldest of the AMD Ryzen 5 series CPUs appears to be the Ryzen 5 2600, or maybe 2500X. Check for yourself. This is exactly what the PC World article is saying. Don't expect that slapping in a TPM module is all you need to do.

An old post on this forum claims that your processor has just been added to the list, but it didn't turn out that way.

What this might mean, after installing the TPM 2.0 module, is that your PC could pass all of the hardware security checks, and still not be admitted into the club. If so, while you should be able to install Windows 11 using the ISO file method, it appears that you won't be getting the security or feature updates. Which essentially makes the system unusable, long term.

I have no idea if there would be workarounds. I hope so. Things like, can we still install the updates manually, even if they don't appear in the Windows Update app? Who knows.

The strategy "makes sense" for both Microsoft and for the PC OEMs. If they can obsolete all PCs that are 2 to 3 years old or older, which they are doing, then they get to sell multiple millions of new PCs, and the vast majority of these comes with a new copy of Windows.
