    WIN 11 does a shutdown on Surface 3 laptop instead of going to sleep


    Recently my Surface 3 laptop mod: 1868 purchased: 6/10/20 running WIN11 has been doing a complete shutdown every time it goes to sleep, or I close the screen. Normally I can raise the screen or just hit a key if it is already open and it immediately signs in. Now intermittently I have to hold the power key for 15 sec. to initiate a cold startup. Is there some setting I accidentally changed that is causing this? I've searched but can't find anything related to this but did see this issue addressed befor on the community website, but the answer does no

    Laptop shutdown instead of going to sleep when closing the cover

    Hi, after I did the latest update of windows 10 , version 1803 on June 9/18, my Toshiba C50Dt-A laptop will shutdown instead of going to sleep when closing the cover. The power & sleep settings look fine. All newer windows update after that did not have
    a fix for this issue.

    Anyone has an answer to this issue? Thanks!

    Laptop does not shutdown when i click shutdown and close the lid, it sleeps instead.

    Whenever i click shutdown on my laptop, i directly close the lid. However, the laptop sleeps instead of shutdown. The bulb icon on my laptop which indicates the laptop is sleeping tells me that the laptop did not shutdown properly. I have to open the lid
    again for it to shutdown properly. Please tell me that there's a fix to this. Thank you.
