  1. Win 11 does not see Com Ports correctly

Hello,Windows is normally not seeing com ports. Normally my computer has 3 different ports available to use outside. When I open device manager I only see 1 and also it is giving a warning like :"Windows cannot determine the settings for this device. Consult the documentation that came with this device and use the Resource tab to set the configuration. Code 34." Also I realized that when I open bluetooth 2 more com ports is also opening on the screen and they seem like they're working correctly because they do not give any kind of warning. But while bluetooth is off I also dont see these 2

    :)

win10 sez no drivers for brither hl5040 printer

To be sure that you followed my suggestion correctly, I will specify some steps: CP>devices and printers>add a printer>the printer that I want isn't listed>add a local printer with manual settings>define port>Windows update and install

  3. Trying to connect to a printer that is physically on a Win 10 computer from a Win 11 computer to no avail.

    Hello Geldman,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble connecting to your printer. Since you’ve already tried the solutions suggested on the internet, here are a few more things you can try:

    1. Make sure that the printer is shared on the Win 10 computer. To do this, go to the printer properties on the Win 10 computer and check the box next to “Share this printer” in the Sharing tab.
    2. Ensure that the printer is visible to other devices on the network. To do this, go to the printer properties on the Win 10 computer and check the box next to “List in the directory” in the Sharing tab.
    3. Try disabling any firewalls or antivirus software temporarily on both the Win 10 and Win 11 computers to see if that resolves the issue.
    4. Check if the printer is compatible with Windows 11. You can check the manufacturer’s website for the latest drivers and software for your printer.
    5. Try connecting the printer to a different USB port on the Win 10 computer.
    6. If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer to its default settings and then setting it up again.
I hope one of these solutions works for you,

Win 11 does not see Com Ports correctly

HP Deskjet 9300 printer on Win 7 or Win 8.1

But it does ask you to connect the printer

    Step Two
    11. Connect the USB cable to the product, and connect the USB cable to the computer. A Device driver software was not successfully installed window opens.

    Step three:
    3. Click the drop down menu, and then change the port from LPT1 to USB or DOT4.virtual

If you connect the printer in Step two #11 then maybe when you get to Step three #3 there will be USB port in the list.
