Windows 10: WIN 11 HOME, ALL THUMBNAILS GONE...BUT

Win 11 home 64 bitI had irfan view installed, all was working OK, rubbish down restart only the icon of irfan view showed.so open all jpg, png with win photos.No thumbnails showing see snapshotI have tried ALL what has been suggested on web sites, gpedit, regedit, group policy, reset cache, reboot safe mode, disable icon show thumbnails.The snapshot is "use this app photos to open all jpg/png"i have exhausted the web...LOLAt the same time, the notepad icon changed itself, and the notepad, calculator & win security icon in the taskbar all went BLANK ...they're still there but dont show

Many thanks for you reply. I have done all the steps you suggested, but no change,

When I open a folder containing photos, some open correctly but the vast majority open with thumbnails, but they very quickly get overwritten and you can not longer see the thumbnails.

Are there any more suggestions?

 

How to put thumbnails to files in Win 10

After upgrading from Win 7 my wifes long list of embroidery files downloads has lost all of there picture markers(thumbnails).
Any help .have tried Google suggestions but nothing seems to work

This issue might occur due to changes made to the system file settings.

Let us follow these steps and check if this helps:

  Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Control Panel”.

  Double click on “Folder Options”.

  Click the “View tab”.

  Uncheck the following option, if it’s checked.

  "Always show icons, never thumbnails".
