Windows 10: Win 11, microphone not working when app share permission

Hi,Recently bought a new computer in Win 11. After installing and updating everything. I downloaded a few games to play, mainly valorant and overwatch. Whenever I play those games, and I'm in a discord call. My microphone will stop working. It is still identified by the system, I can still here everything, but the microphone will not work until I either leave discord and rejoin, or stop playing one of the two games. Device manager do not show any error, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver doesn't fix anything. My privacy setting allows all my desktop app to use the microphone. The headset

Under the category: settings/Privacy & security/microphone, it is possible to turn on/off some apps permission to access the microphone. However several apps are lumped together into the last category of the list called "Let desktop apps access your microphone". This generates problems since steam, discord, zoom, e.t.c are all in this category which basically removes the users abillity to use mic on discord but not steam. This lack of flexibillity could easily be solved if microsoft would make individual on/off-switch for all desktop apps that wish to access the microphone in windows 11.

 

Camera and Microphone Privacy

This issue occurs due to permission issue, driver issue, license for an app is out of sync with the license installed on the computer or if the app is not updated. To give permission to Camera and Microphone app, you may follow
these steps:

• Go to Settings.
• Select Privacy.
• Look for Camera, make sure that “Let apps use my camera” is turned On. You may choose the apps that can use your camera as well.
• Go back to Privacy and select Microphone, make sure that “Let apps use my microphone” is turned On. You may choose the apps that can use your microphone as well.

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

G to Privacy - Microphone

Is the Teams App listed there as having permission to access your Microphone?
