Windows 10: WIN 11 Photo app -How to repair a photo?

When I had WIN 8 "open with Photos" there was a tool like a blur/copy wand that allowed you to remove scratches/smudges/spots from a photo. I can't find this in WIN 11. Please advise.

Replacement for photo viewer

I just use the Photos app for a quick view, otherwise I use Adobe Lightroom to view and edit photos.

 

Win 11 Phone photos will not open in File Exporer or Photos

I have a new HP All in One desktop with Win 11 pre-installed. I am trying to transfer my Photos library from my old Win 10 PC. All the photos display correctly on my old PC - and incidentally also on my iPad. However when I try to open the photos on my new PC, a number of the phone photos will not open with a message that the file format is not supprted or the file is corrupt. The files are all JPG. I have tried transfering the photo folders via both a memory stick and Dropbox but the problem persists. I have tried Repair on the Photos app but again the problem persists

So far I have only tranferred photos from 2021 and 2022 rather than my whole archive. Has anybody got suggestions as to what may be causing the problem as at the moment I don't trust Win 11 and its software.

 

Photos are opening with Paint instead of Photos app

It's likely that your default application for opening photos is Paint. To change your default program in Windows 10 from
Paint to the Photo app, we suggest that you perform the following steps:

• On the Start menu, select Settings.
  
• Go to System, then go to Default apps.
  
• Select Photos or any app that you like to be the default under
  Photo viewer.
